Near Record Highs on Thursday, Cold Front to Bring Some Rain on Friday
WBBJ 7 Forecast Update
WBBJ 7 Forecast Update:
It has been a really nice Wednesday for us here in West Tennessee. Highs have made it up to around 80° and we are expecting to be even warmer on Thursday. Thursday’s record is 86° and we are going to be very close to that number by the afternoon. The southerly winds are increasing the humidity some and that will keep our overnight temperatures up as well the next few days. The next cold front is coming through on Friday and will drop temperatures about 25° from Thursday to Saturday. The front will bring some scattered rain showers with it but severe weather is not coming this time. Most of us will see just a tenth or two tenths of rain by the time the system clears out around Sunset on Friday. Catch the full forecast coming up here.

THIS WEEK:
The warm up kicked in on Wednesday with highs reaching the upper 70s to the low 80s. The winds were a bit breezy and came out of the south during the day. We also saw plenty of sunshine but there were some clouds lingering around into the afternoon. Dry weather is expected to continue this evening and Wednesday night lows will fall down to the low 60s due to the increase in humidity from the southerly winds.

Another day of possible record highs is coming in on Thursday. The record is 86° in 2020 and the current forecast is 87° and could climb higher as the week goes on. Expect another mostly sunny day and it will be a little humid for this time of the year as well. Thursday night lows will fall down to around 60° and the winds will kick up some late in the day as the next front gets a little closer.

The next front in the forecast is going to pass late in the day on Friday. As the front passes, some showers or weak storms appear possible but severe weather seems unlikely at this time for West Tennessee. Some of the forecast data has the rain missing up completely from the front, but that also seems unlikely that we won’t see some showers Friday afternoon and evening. Friday highs will only reach the low to mid 70s as clouds will be sticking around most of the day and the showers could show up before we can reach the 80s. Friday night lows will fall down into the upper 30s, possibly cold enough for a frost if the skies can clear out by Saturday morning. The rain should be gone by sunrise Saturday as well.

THIS WEEKEND:
We are looking at a much cooler weekend across the Mid South than the previous weekend but it still looks like it is going to be quite nice. Highs on Saturday will reach the low 60s after starting out the morning in the 30s. Expect a sunny day for the most part on Saturday with the low humidity due to the northeast breeze moving in behind Friday’s front. Saturday night will be a little cool with lows falling down to around 40° on Sunday morning. The winds will try to change back to the southeast during the day on Sunday and that will bring temperatures back into the low to mid 70s by Sunday afternoon. A few more clouds will move in on Sunday but we should still see a mostly sunny day. Sunday night lows will drop down to the low 50s to kick off next week. The weekend looks like it is going to be dry for everyone in our viewing area as of now.
