Jury convicts man of 2022 Ripley murder; 2 children injured
RIPLEY, Tenn. (WMC) – A Ripley man has been convicted and sentenced in connection with a 2022 shooting that killed one man and injured two children.
Ripley police say Kylan Beard was convicted Feb. 20 following a Lauderdale County jury trial. He was found guilty of first-degree murder in the death of Donnell Barbee, as well as two counts of attempted first-degree murder involving juveniles.

Investigators say the shooting happened in June 2022 on Spivey Street, where Beard forced his way into a home and shot Barbee and two others.
After the shooting, the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation and the U.S. Marshals Service issued a Most Wanted Alert seeking Beard’s capture.
Beard was sentenced March 25 to life in prison, plus 26 years tied to other convictions.
