Behind the Front, 30s Saturday Morning, More Rain/Storms Next Week!
WBBJ 7 Forecast Update
WBBJ 7 Forecast Update:
Some pockets or rain showers are moving through West Tennessee this afternoon as a cold front is moving through. Temperatures are dropping quickly as northerly winds are slicing through right now. The rain showers are following the front and up to 1/4″ of rain could come down in some areas. A few lightning strikes cannot be ruled out but that is about as exciting as things are going to get this evening. Behind the front, we will be falling down to the mid to upper 30s and some frost cant be ruled out in our northern counties. We will have the latest on the brief cooldown and will be tracking everything on the radar coming up here.

THIS WEEK:
The next front passed late in the day on Friday. As the front approached, some showers and very weak storms developed but nothing was even close to severe weather this time for West Tennessee. Some people missed out on the rain completely from the front, but the majority of us saw a little bit of something. Friday highs will only reached the low to mid 70s before the front showed up and clouds stuck around most of the day. Friday night lows will fall down into the mid to upper 30s, possibly cold enough for a frost if the skies can clear out by Saturday morning behind the cold front. The rain should be gone by sunset for most of us tonight.

THIS WEEKEND:
We are looking at a much cooler weekend across the Mid South than the previous weekend but it still looks like it is going to be quite nice. Highs on Saturday will reach the low 60s after starting out the morning in the 30s. Expect a sunny day for the most part on Saturday with the low humidity due to the northeast breeze moving in behind Friday’s front. Saturday night will be a little cool with lows falling down to around 40° on Sunday morning. The winds will try to change back to the southeast during the day on Sunday and that will bring temperatures back into the low to mid 70s by Sunday afternoon. A few more clouds will move in on Sunday but we should still see a mostly sunny day. Sunday night lows will drop down to the low 50s to kick off next week. The weekend looks like it is going to be dry for everyone in our viewing area as of now.

NEXT WEEK:
The heat will be coming back next week with highs up near 80° again on Monday. The week will start out with plenty of sunshine but clouds and rain chances will be returning in the middle of the week as well. The winds will come out of the south most of the week keeping temperatures above normal as we finish March and kick off April. There could be some storms coming in on Wednesday and severe weather will be possible at this time. Some of the rain could linger into Thursday as well. We really need the rain, so that is good but hopefully we can avoid any big storms that might come with it. We should be in the mid 80s on Tuesday and Wednesday before cooling back down to the low 70s on Thursday under the cloudy skies.
