Educator of the Week: Morgan Norman
JACKSON, Tenn. — It’s time now to recognize our Educator of the Week, brought to you by the Tennessee Education Lottery.

Morgan Norman teaches U.S. History honors and AP U.S. History at Madison Academic High School in Jackson. She shares why her passion of history led her to become a teacher.
“I wanted to become a teacher to share my love of history with my students and to just teach them the history of the United States, the history of the world and hopefully help them become better citizens of the United States, and of the world. The more they know about our society and our culture the more informed they can be,” said Norman.

Norman says getting to know her students is her favorite part of the job.
“My favorite part of teaching is just building relationships with my students and being able to kind of follow them though their high school career. Maybe even beyond try to keep in touch with them. To see what they learned not only for me but from the other teachers here at Madison and how that inspired them as they leave,” said Norman.
Norman tells us how she was a recipient of the Hope Scholarship and why it was so crucial for her college career.
“The Hope Scholarship was really important to me because I was able to go to college because of the hope scholarship. It really helped me financially. I was able to go to the University of Tennessee in Knoxville and being able to keep that, that really helped me all for of my years there,” said Norman.
Norman ends by sharing her gratitude for being chosen as Educator of the Week.
“Being Educator of the Week is really kind of a full circle because it’s showing me that my work is being recognized. Because I do work beyond the classroom I am able to. I obviously see the benefits that I give my students in class and I see them grow throughout the year. So it’s nice to have that work recognized as well,” said Norman.
