Samples was taken into custody after an extensive search operation involving federal, state, and local law enforcement agencies.

TDOC officers, along with their K-9 Kally, located samples hiding in a wooded area on Peter Smith Gravel Road in Humboldt.

According to the Crockett County Sheriff’s Department, Samples awaits serious charges out of the commonwealth of Virginia for illegal online sexual activity involving a minor victim.

“It’s been a long week and multiple agencies have been working together tirelessly around the clock. It’s commendable, we appreciate, so very much, the work of all the agencies and people. Of the citizens keeping a watchful eye, and their patience with us. Over the past couple of days we really do appreciate it,” said Steven Sutton, PIO, Crockett County Sheriff’s Department.

Samples will be held at another facility pending extradition to Virginia.
