City of Bolivar marks 1,000 days without a homicide; celebration happening Thursday
BOLIVAR, Tenn. — The City of Bolivar is celebrating a large milestone. Tuesday, the city marked 1,000 days without a homicide.
Bolivar Mayor Julian McTizic says it reflects the dedication of the public safety teams and the citizens work to take care of each other.
“We started a safe streets initiative, we enhanced our law enforcements presence, and from then on we did a countdown and reached 1,000 days with no homicides,” said Mayor McTizic.
Bolivar will have a community celebration of the milestone on Thursday at sand beach lake with music, free food, and games. The event is aimed at celebrating the spirit and safety of the city.
