Tennessee Promise application opens on April 1 for the class of 2027
PRESS RELEASE FROM TENNESSEE HIGHER EDUCATION COMMISSION:
NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The Tennessee Higher Education Commission (THEC) today announced that the TN Promise application is now open for the Class of 2027.
For the first time, high school juniors can apply beginning April 1, giving students earlier access than ever before to the state’s last-dollar scholarship.
The earlier application timeline allows students and families to begin planning for college sooner, including gaining earlier insight into admissions and financial aid opportunities early in their senior year.
What This Means for Students:
- Apply Earlier: High school juniors can submit the TN Promise application starting April 1, months ahead of previous years.
- Plan Ahead: Students and families can begin exploring college options and financial aid opportunities earlier in the process.
- Stay on Track: Completing the application early helps ensure students meet key deadlines during their senior year.
“Tennessee continues to lead the nation in expanding access to higher education,” said Dr. Steven Gentile, THEC Executive Director. “By opening the TN Promise application earlier than ever, we are giving students more time to plan, prepare, and take the next step toward their future.”
TN Promise covers tuition at community colleges, Tennessee Colleges of Applied Technology (TCATs), and select private institutions.
