KINSTON, N.C. (WITN/Gray News) – A Chick-fil-A employee found nearly $10,000 near a toilet while at work.
The cash was found in the men’s restroom at the Chick-fil-A on U.S. 70 around 10:40 a.m. on Good Friday. Police said an employee discovered two white envelopes in a stall beside the toilet.
One was labeled First Citizens Bank and contained $5,000, and another was labeled Truist Bank and contained $4,333.
Initially, the restaurant attempted to review the security video to identify who the money belonged to. But the owner came forward Monday morning to accept the cash.
