Woman charged with 7 counts of attempted murder after incident at elementary bus stop
MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WMC) – A woman is behind bars facing 14 charges after a shooting at a school bus stop.
Kayla McNeal has been charged with seven counts of attempted first-degree murder and seven counts of employing a firearm during the commission of a felony.

Memphis Police responded to a shooting around 8:15 a.m. at the intersection of Ratliff and Lauderdale near an elementary school bus stop.
MPD said that after dropping off her kids, McNeal saw a woman who is her ex-boyfriend’s sister at the bus stop and started walking towards her and her sister.
Records state that McNeal had a bad breakup and had been taking it out on her ex-boyfriend’s family for some time. In addition, records stated that McNeal had threatened to shoot up the sisters’ apartment.
McNeal put her hand in her pocket and walked towards the women, according to police. She then pulled a pistol out of her pocket and fired twice at the sisters. There were five children in the car at the time.
No one was struck or injured and the family made it home unharmed.
Investigators arrived on the scene and the sisters provided a positive identification of McNeal after a photo lineup.
McNeal is being held on a $350,000 bond.
