Tennessee River Rendezvous brings history to life

SALTILLO, Tenn. — Tennessee is gearing up for a big weekend of living history along the river.

River Rendezvous 1

The 6th annual Tennessee River Rendezvous is taking place Friday and Saturday in Saltillo, just off highway 69.
It’s a free two-day primitive art and weaponry festival with reenactors from native American history through Vietnam. There are also sutlers, encampments, food and art vendors, and live music.
Saturday night features a “dance through history” to mark America 250. That will be followed by military night firings and fireworks.
Organizers say you’re encouraged to dress in period costumes and enjoy demonstrations, including cannon and musket firings, ancestral drums, and wood carving.
