Warm & Dry Weekend in West Tennessee, Even Hotter with Storm Chances Next Week!
WBBJ 7 Forecast Update
WBBJ 7 Forecast Update:
We are watching a line of non severe storms approach the Bootheel of Missouri this evening but we are expecting them to run out of gas and fizzle out around the time they get to the Mississippi River. We will be tracking them on the radar tonight. Highs should reach the mid 80s this weekend but no rain is coming until at the earliest next Monday. There will be several stormy days next week but the big question is, when are they going to get to West Tennessee. We will have the latest on it all coming up here.
THIS WEEK:
Well so far this April has been nothing like the April we had in 2025 and that is for the most part great news. There are no severe storms in the forecast this week and in fact, rain chances are not expected back until next week. The week will start out a little cool, but the heat will be returning just in time for the weekend. It looks like we have seen our last frost or freeze so go ahead and plant, and get your garden going this week or weekend if you haven’t done so yet!

Highs on Thursday reached the upper 70s but we did fall just short of 80°. We continued to see more sun than clouds but a few more clouds moved through during the day on Friday. But highs were warmer as well to wrap up the work week into the low to mid 80s. Overnight lows feel to mid 50s Friday morning, before only falling to the upper 50s by the end of the work week and into the start of the weekend when the humidity will begin to climb. The winds stayed out of the south on Friday and highs will continue to climb as we get going and head into the weekend.

THIS WEEKEND:
Take advantage of the weekend weather and make some outdoor plans. The weather looks like it is going to be great all weekend long. Highs will reach the mid 80s both days. The humidity will climb as the weekend goes on and so will the overnight lows. Saturday night we will fall down to around 60° and Sunday night lows will only dip into the mid 60s. Expect more clouds on Sunday that Saturday but both days are going to be really nice. If you haven’t planted yet, we are going to give you the green light as it appears any chance at a frost or freeze seems unlikely as of now. The next chance for rain is coming early next week and some storms could be coming back as well. But no rain is forecast this week or this weekend.

NEXT WEEK:
Cooler weather is not coming anytime soon! It looks like we have seen our last freeze and likely our last front of the Spring. Rain is NOT in the forecast this week but will be returning next week and we will get several chances between April 13-April 18. We still do need the rain, but I do not think too many hearts are being broken about seeing temperatures in the 30s coming to an end.

Next week though will bring a return of the rain and storms back to the Mid South and West Tennessee could get in on the act as early as Monday. Severe weather is not expected in our area on Monday but by Wednesday and Thursday next week, things will likely become a bit more concerning. As of now, Tuesday is looking like a mostly dry day. Highs next week could top 90° by Tuesday for the first time in almost 200 days. Morning lows are forecast to be in the 65-70° range all next week. Cooler weather is not where to be found in the forecast, so be prepared for the heat!
