The event offered two separate locations to dispose of unwanted items and the best part, they could do so responsibly.
Items were collected at both Bailey Park and the Stigall Center in Humboldt.
Those who participated could bring in their waste items including tires, mattresses, furniture pieces and more. There was also the opportunity to get rid of TVs, electronics or other bulk waste items.
“We had a lot of tires being disposed of, mattresses, TVs, and a lot of things of that sort. So, today has actually been a good day for us,” said Nicholas Graves, Alderman Ward II.
The event was reserved for local residents only, so a valid ID was required to participate.
