Mr. James Edward “Jimmy” Wisdom, Jr., 66, of Union City passed away 10:06 p.m. Sunday, April 12, 2026, at his home.
Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Wednesday at First Baptist Church in Obion. Burial will follow in Rosehill Cemetery with Brother Charles Southerland officiating.
Visitation will be held at First Baptist Church in Obion from 12:00 p.m. until the hour of services Wednesday.
Pallbearers will be Clint Scobey, Cameron Bradshaw, Connor Reaves, Colton Hamlin, Pete Jeji, Antonio Patrick, and Dustin Dick.
Honorary pallbearers will be his brothers-in-law.
Mr. Jimmy was born February 14, 1960, in Union City, son of the late James Edward Wisdom, Sr. and Wanda (Palmer) Wisdom of Obion. He was a former member of the Tennessee National Guard and graduated from Obion County Central High School in 1978. Jimmy was a member of Obion First Baptist Church and was an ordained minister. He was a loving father, brother, and son as well as a faithful servant of Christ. Jimmy also was an avid hunter and fisherman.
He is also survived by five sons, Jason E. (Jenn Fontana) Wisdom of Newbern, Nick (LamPhon) Wisdom of Union City, Justin (Venus) Wisdom of Candler, Arizona, Steve (Jessica) Wisdom of Big Sandy and Jason L. Wisdom of Rives; ten grandchildren, Kaitlyn Wisdom, Brodie Wisdom, Braylen Wisdom, Lily Wisdom, Faith Wisdom, Nolan Wisdom, Tia Parks, Aleixious Calestine, Destin Wisdom and Denver Wisdom; five sisters, Tammy (Ronnie) Brown of Obion, Terry Martin of Rives, Robin (Tom) Shepherd of Clinton, Kentucky, Sheila (David) Scobey of Obion and Ginger (Jeff) Wilson of Troy; one brother, Tracy (Simone) Wisdom of Union City; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was also preceded in death by one sister, Laurie Wisdom; and his grandparents, Frank and Thelma Palmer, Annie Moss and Odie Wisdom.
