Members gather to celebrate 112th anniversary of local church

MAURY CITY, Tenn. — Residents of West Tennessee gather to celebrate the founding of a beloved church.

Members of the Community Church of God in Christ celebrated their 112th church anniversary Sunday evening.

Member Theresa Powell says she’s ecstatic to be celebrating such a momentous occasion.

“It helps us to unify,” Powell said. “It helps us to keep our faith strong and growing. It helps us to want to be an outreach to the community and be ambassadors of Christ.”

Powell says that it’s important that they maintain the heritage of the church and continue to bring the world together through the power of gospel.
