Family Offering Reward for Murdered Deputy

JACKSON, Tenn. – The Jackson Police Department announced a $15,000 reward for information leading to the conviction of the person responsible for killing former deputy Ollie Bond. Ollie’s younger brother, James Bond said his brother faced many dangers as a police officers and in the military. James Bond said he never imagined his brother would die in his hometown. Bond said he and his brothers and sisters want closure for their mother. “If you have a mother think about her feelings, her thoughts day and day out the things she had to endure about during all of this that’s what we really want closure for our mother,” said James Bond, victim’s brother. Ollie Bond was shot in 2008 outside of Spanky’s Bar and Grill, a business he owned. At the time ,Bond was a deputy at the Haywood County Sheriff’s Department. Jackson Police said they have a person of interest in Bond’s murder. “We are hopeful that this person or persons who committed this awful crime will soon be brought to justice and truly begin the healing process,” said James Bond. Any information that will lead to an arrest has to be given to Jackson Police before December 7.
