MTSU Professor Drives Through Jackson Without Gas

JACKSON, Tenn.- A Middle Tennessee State University professor arrived in Jackson, Monday after driving more than 2,000 miles without fueling up for gas. Cliff Ricketts is using alternative fuels such as the sun and hydrogen from water to travel coast to coast. Rickletts and his team have two cars so when one runs out of hydrogen, they switch the the other. One car goes 360 miles before needing to be refueled, the other car goes 260 miles. Ricketts said the purpose of this trip is so people will know that there are other ways to fuel a vehicle. “I wanna show by this trip that there’s another way to produce fuel and we can do it with our natural resources, the sun and water and we do it in our own cities, universities, our own households if need be,” said Cliff Ricketts, professor of alternative fuel. The professor plans on being in California ,Thursday.
