DAR presents annual Field of Flags in Jackson

JACKSON, Tenn. –An organization hosts its annual Field of Flags in the Hub city.

The Jackson-Madison Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution dedicated their 16th annual Field of Flags at Triangle Park in downtown Jackson. The annual event is held in observance of Flag Day, June 14.

Residents were able to attend the ceremony and to view the “Betsy Ross” flags representing Revolutionary War ancestors of Madison county residents.

“As long as we call their names, they will not be forgotten, and they established what we can enjoy today,” said Gwen McCaffrey-McReynolds, flag committee chairman.

Jackson-Madison Chapter NSDAR was organized on Flag Day, June 14, 1901, and is one of the oldest and most active chapters in the state of Tennessee.
