JACKSON, Tenn. — The Miss Tennessee Volunteer Pageant night one is over, and night two is just a few hours away.

After an exciting opening night of preliminary competition, the contestants are preparing for night two of the pageant.

In the past, each pageant night had a similar structure, but this year, each night there will be a special surprise.

Each group competes in a different phase each night, such as talent, evening gown, and swimsuit. But most changes involve the production of the show.

Opening night, the talent winner was Miss Lane College, and the winner for lifestyle and fitness was Miss Nashville.

“As we get closer to Saturday night girls may get a little tired but they’re pushing thorough they’re excited. They’re having fun and that’s the big thing and it shows in rehearsal. Because you know people preach how you practice is how you perform,” said Emily Anne Sparks, Co- Executive Director of the Miss Tennessee Volunteer Pageant.

Tickets are still on sale for the pageant. You can purchase them online or at the Carl Perkins Center.

Doors open at 6 p.m. with the event starting at 7 p.m.
