Tennessee man charged with killing 2 women during argument
HENDERSONVILLE, Tenn. (AP) — A Tennessee man has been charged with killing two women during an argument, officials said.
Officers responded Monday afternoon to a call of shots fired at a home and arrived to find two women with gunshot wounds in the front yard, Hendersonville Police said in a statement. Laura Undis, 60, and Virginia Deirdre Sheen, 67, both died later at a hospital.
The suspect, Lloyd T. Martin Jr., 72, was detained by good Samaritans and was taken into custody, the statement said.
Police said it appears there was a failed relationship between Martin and Undis, and an argument between the two spilled into the front yard of a home. Sheen was a neighbor who tried to intervene when Martin allegedly pulled out a pistol and began shooting, police said.
Martin was being held in the Sumner County jail, where records say he was charged with two counts of murder and one count of aggravated assault. Online records don’t indicate whether he has an attorney.
