HENRY COUNTY, Tenn. — A 17-year-old has been arrested after allegedly threatening to kill two Henry County students via social media. Parents notified Henry County High School resource officer Buford Taylor about threats against two Henry County High School students. They took the situation seriously and notified the Henry County Sheriff’s Department. “When we got the initial information about it, of course we pursued aggressively,” Henry County Sheriff Monte Belew said. Due to recent events involving school systems and violence, the sheriff’s department wanted to make sure they took advantage of assessing the situation quickly. “We’ve seen the horrific event just last week on a college campus,” Belew said. The 17-year-old was arrested in front of the the Henry County Courthouse. He since has been charged with aggravated assault and harassment. He currently is under house arrest and is facing another court date in the near future.
