Family says boy hit by school bus is expected to be OK

JACKSON, Tenn. — A boy who was hit by a school bus Tuesday while riding his bicycle is expected to make a full recovery, according to his family. Family members say the boy was airlifted to a Memphis hospital with a broken leg, cuts and bruises but is expected to be fine. Sgt. Derick Tisdale with the Jackson Police department said the accident happened just before 4 p.m. on Passmore Lane off Highway 45. The bus involved in the accident transports students for the West Tennessee School for the Deaf, according to a release from the Jackson-Madison County School System.
