MADISON COUNTY, Tenn. — The Madison County Fire Department was one of 10 challenged by the Tennessee State Fire Marshal’s Office to help install 100 smoke alarms. In honor of the fire marshal’s 100th anniversary and the end of National Fire Prevention Week, fire stations have been challenged to install smoke alarms. Officials said smoke alarms dramatically reduce fire mortality. The Madison County Fire Department said they have almost reached their goal Saturday, with teams across the county installing the alarms.
