Police arrest man in Union City robbery; still seek another

UNION CITY, Tenn. — Police have arrested one of two men wanted in a recent robbery and beating that sent a man to the hospital. Marcus Taylor was arrested on a warrant for aggravated robbery just before noon Friday in the 200 block of West Main Street in Union City, according to police. Taylor was transported to the Obion County Jail and is scheduled to be arraigned at 1 p.m. Tuesday. Police still are seeking Vernon Cotton on a warrant for aggravated robbery in the same incident. The victim showed up Oct. 1 at a Union City emergency room and told police Cotton pushed him to the ground and that Taylor struck him with a pistol. A police report says six or seven men then joined in the attack. The men also allegedly took an undetermined amount of money from the victim’s pockets.
