OBION COUNTY, Tenn. — A local judge is giving a second chance to people who have missed a court date. Obion County General Sessions Judge Jimmy Smith is giving those who have missed a court date in Obion County the chance to clear their appearance slate and avoid arrest for a failure to appear charge, according to court officials. Judge Smith has designated 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Oct. 22 and Oct. 23 as a time to review failure to appear cases. Smith says failure to take advantage of this second chance may result in an arrest order or bench warrant being issued. The judge says those who come during either of the scheduled times will have their appearance slate cleared and a new beginning to their specific case.
