Jackson-Madison County School System releases timeline for Vision 2020

JACKSON, Tenn. — After a standing-room-only crowd at the Vision 2020 meeting, Tuesday, on Thursday, the Jackson Madison County School Board announced upcoming meetings and open houses. In a statement, the board said, although its elementary and middle school plans are coming into focus, feedback in regards to high school options has prompted more questions. The board announced it has many goals over the next three months, many of which fit into three broad fields: *Potential reallocation of resources to enhance student education. *Tentative construction and building modification costs *Possible transportation impacts and savings. The long-range planning committee will now take the lead moving toward a final Vision 2020 plan. This timeline was released: *Oct. 26 – Long-range planning committee meeting *Nov. 9 – Board meeting with update from Kimley-Horn *Nov. 23 – Board retreat to discuss Vision 2020 alternatives *Dec. 1-4 – Public open houses *Dec. 7-10 – Board scheduled to make a final decision.
