JACKSON, Tenn. — Milan’s streets are being made safer by the generosity of a business’ gift back to local law enforcement. Friday morning at the Target in north Jackson, store officials presented a $4,000 check to the Milan Police Department. The money will go toward programs for the force, specifically for programs targeting serving the community. “A stronger bond between the police department and the community, and neighborhood watch, Shop with a Cop, National Night Out, school resource officers, that all goes in the same direction to build that bond,” said Milan school resource officer Nick Glenn. Milan officials also hope Friday’s gift can help jump start an all-new neighborhood watch program for their city.
