Police say suspected shooter in attempted murder-suicide has died

JACKSON, Tenn. — Police say the suspected shooter in a murder and attempted suicide earlier this week has died from his injuries. Officers confirm 64-year-old Ernest Emerson died Friday from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound. He and 26-year-old Mikkel Joy were found shot inside his home on James Street. Investigators believe Emerson shot Joy and then himself.
