Thanksgiving dinner raises money for fire department

SIDONIA, Tenn.– Hundreds of people had an early turkey dinner Sunday afternoon to support their local heroes. The Sidonia Fire Department held their annual Thanksgiving meal, a fundraiser to support the volunteer fire department. Board members say this is one of their biggest fundraisers of the year, but it feels more like a homecoming. “So this is kind of the glue that holds the little community together, so we in Sidonia are really proud of that and are happy to see the people that continue to support it,” Chairman Donnie Lee said. The Fire department said they saw more than 300 guests at the dinner, and estimate they raised around $2,500.
