Jackson holds first Veterans Day Parade

NORTHEAST JACKSON, Tenn. — Many people came out to Jackson’s first Veteran’s Day Parade. The parade was held near The Ballpark at Jackson and featured many participants, including the Girls Scouts Club, Rose Hill Middle School Dancers and even the Jackson Tip Top Tappers. People were happy to come and honor veterans while enjoying their time at the event. “This is an awesome way to honor our veterans. Our veterans have given so much for us, they’ve sacrificed life, limbs, and it’s just an amazing way to honor them,” said event attendee Regetta Nelson. People from all ages were at the event to enjoy the parade. While some younger people were there mainly to enjoy the parade, some were there to specifically honor those who protect our nation’s freedom. “My husband is a veteran and we’re with the east Jackson church of Christ, we came out with the East Jackson church of Christ and to support all veterans. I have a son that’s a veteran, so I came out to support all veterans,” said event attendee Jacueline Waller. Many attendees are hoping that the Jackson Veteran’s Day will become an annual event.
