DYERSBURG, Tenn. – Dyer County deputies have found the missing man they spent the entire weekend searching for; but now they’re trying to locate his family. According to investigators, Ku Htoo was reported missing after he wandered away from his family, as they stopped at the Dyersburg Welcome Center. The family was traveling from Oklahoma to Middle Tennessee when they say Htoo disappeared. Investigators believed he was under the influence of alcohol at the time and due to a language barrier, his family was concerned about his whereabouts. Deputies said Htoo was spotted by Dyer County residents and they were able to pick him up. However, by the time they were able to get him in custody, his family had already left. “They reported him and continued on to where they were going,” said Dyer County, Sheriff Box. “Now we’re trying to contact them to let them know that we found them.” According to Sheriff Box an interpreter who speaks Burmese was brought in to translate for Htoo. They’re hoping they will get more information to contact his family.
