JC’s Humphreys signs with Harding

The chants of hump, hump, hump echoed throughout the Jackson Christian library on Thursday afternoon. It had nothing to do with “Hump Day.” Instead, the shouts were for senior Miles Humphreys. The outfielders signed his letter of intent to join Harding University’s baseball team in Arkansas. “I waited a little bit to commit, but I kind of knew that’s where I wanted to go,” Humphreys said. “The players there welcomed me and acted like I was one of them.” Humphreys won’t be the first in his family to attend Harding. Both his dad and aunt are Bison grads. Harding first started recruiting Humphreys at their summer camp. “It’s kind of a small environment which I like,” Humphreys said. “The coaches are very personable. Doesn’t seem like a business as much. They want a relationship with you.” Humphreys was member of the Eagles 2014 Class A State Championship team.
