Former TVA Employee gets “Time Served”
A former TVA Police employee has been sentenced to time served in plea agreement involving theft from the federal utility. However, Cheryl E. Hall may face state charges in what prosecutors describe as an attempt to woo a married man with gifts of expensive weapons. U.S. District Court Judge Thomas Phillips set Hall free on Wednesday after four months in jail. The plea agreement revealed Hall used a TVA credit card fraudulently to bilk the utility of more than $21,000. She pleaded guilty in February to the theft. The agreement stated Hall bought ten “extravagant firearms” for her paramour and co-worker, who was not identified. Court records show state officials are now investigating $200,000 in loans Hall obtained from friends.
