KY Man Killed by Train

Lexington authorities say a train struck and killed 37-year-old a man. The Fayette County Coroner says Dannic Sawyer died from blunt force trauma early Thursday after being struck by the train near West Main Street. The engineer told police he saw someone on the tracks moments before impact. Emergency responders searched for a half-hour early Thursday before locating the Sawyers body. Lexington Fire Department Maj. Phillip Buettner said the train was about a mile long and it took a while to check the section of track and find the victim. Neither police nor the coroner could say why Sawyer was on the tracks.
