DYER, Tenn- Students at one Gibson County school get a real life lesson on the dangers of drinking and driving. The Gibson County Sheriff’s Department and other emergency responders put on a mock crash to show what can happen to impaired drivers. Organizers said they hope the 280 students at Gibson County High School will not drink and drive during prom and graduation season. “I hope the kids take away a message that we are trying to educate them that this is wrong. This is bad and ultimately it could hurt somebody , if not kill them,” said Principal Jim Hughes of Gibson County High School. Educators, law enforcement and emergency personnel say they cannot stress enough how dangerous it is to get behind the wheel and drive drunk.
