Shoppers take advantage of black Friday deals.
JACKSON, Tenn.,–Hundreds of shoppers took advantage of Black Friday deals across the hub city. “It ain’t been too bad so far,” Tyrone Hardaway said. Hardaway plays the role of “support system” during the shopping frenzy. He said he prefers to wait outside the stores for his wife. “I ain’t got the patience,” he said. From toys to clothing, shoppers tell me they’re finding deals for everyone this year. “I’m doing Christmas shopping…and we buy stuff for ourselves,” Becky Wright said. Wright said she and her family have made the shopping spree a holiday tradition. With many stores opening on Thanksgiving, traditional black Friday shoppers said they like seeing thinner crowds in stores. “I came at this time of the day because it’s not worth getting out at midnight or Thanksgiving to come out here and fight the crowds,” Sarah Baker said. Bargain hunters we interviewed said they hadn’t seen anything crazy while shopping this year.”You want to get the good deals, but you don’t want to kill somebody obviously,” Renee Plunk said. One experienced shopper recommends bringing a support system, comfortable shoes, coffee and cash to make the holiday shopping easier.
