MADISON COUNTY, Tenn. — Halloween is only days away, and one area church has a different take on the spooky holiday. Members of the Bethlehem No. 1 Missionary Baptist Church near Mercer is presenting their first ever “Judgement House.” The program is a 10-scene walk-through drama. Organizers said guests are led through a series of rooms that tell a story about people whose lives have been cut short through some kind of tragedy. “We thought it was a way to give an alternative to Halloween and to give a Christian alternative to the haunted house. So, it was a different opportunity to sharing the gospel,” said church member Yolonda Neely. The “Judgement House” runs nightly from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. through Nov. 1. The church is located at 183 Maple Springs Road just off Highway 138 near Mercer.
