NORTH JACKSON, Tenn. — Jackson Christian School is starting a new tradition. The soccer team is heading to the state tournament for the third straight time. Every year, the Lady Eagles have advanced one round further. JC hopes this go-around ends with a title. “Last year we rolled into Murfressboro with about 500-600 students. It was the second biggest turnout of any team,” head coach Jeff Lean said. “To have that sort of support where the school gets behind us like that, it means the world to the girls.” The school doesn’t hold back anything when it comes to their soccer team. Students from kindergarten to the high school, faculty and parents said their final good bye on Tuesday to the team during the school’s state send off. “This is our third time going to the state tournament,” senior Julia Anne Lansdale. “I kind of feel like we have our feet underneath us now.” “They’re going to be teams there a lot better than we’ve been playing,” senior Amelia Grizzell said. “We can rise to the challenge and play against them.” Jackson Christian has been through this before. They’ve accepted the challenge of rewriting their previous endings. “We’re excited and know that its a tough road,” Lean said. “We think its a winnable road this year.” “Now we know we need to come out with a fire lite under us,” Grizzell said. “Be prepared for anything that comes our way.” JC and Page’s game has been postponed to 6:30 p.m. on Thursday due to wet field conditions.
