Police: Two dead in murder-suicide at north Jackson bank
JACKSON, Tenn. — A man and woman are dead after what police are calling a murder-suicide shooting at a north Jackson bank. Police say the incident at the Bank of Jackson at 132 West University Parkway was not a robbery but a workplace domestic violence issue. Officers responded to a 911 call just after 9:30 a.m. Monday morning about a possible robbery, according to police. Upon arrival, they found a woman dead of apparent gunshot wounds inside the bank, police say. The alleged shooter had what appeared to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound and was transported to a local hospital where he later was pronounced dead around 10:30 a.m. Jackson police were on scene along with Madison County deputies and the Tennessee Highway Patrol. North Side High School was placed on lockdown until around 11 a.m., according to school officials.
