West Tenn. university gets national recognition
JACKSON, Tenn.,–A west Tennessee university gets national recognition.
From factors like academics, financial aid and alumni success, collegechoice.net listed the 50 best Christian colleges and universities in the country.
Union University is ranked third in the Nation, acocrding to the website.
“To see how the students and the professors live out their faith in the context of higher academia was very compelling,” Senior Joshua Edgren said, “it is my favorite thing about Union,” he said.
Edgren notes the school isn’t just a place where books and students come together,”I really wanted a school that was founded on Christian principles. That was very important to me.”
The university currently has about 4,000 enrolled students.
Collegechoice.net said a low student to teacher ratio, which currently sits at 10 to one and a high percentage of students getting need based financial aid as reasons the school fell so high on the list.
The website also ranked another Tennessee University in the top 10, Nashville’s Belmont University came in seventh place.
