Southern Assn. of Colleges , Schools put UTM on probation
MARTIN, Tenn.-Bad news for the University of Tennessee at Martin. School officials confirm it has been put on probation by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools, which is in charge of accreditation.
In a statement, UTM said its 12-month probation appears to be due to the university “falling short of standards related to evidence of effectiveness and general education competencies.”
The school said it is still waiting for official notification.
It is important to note U.T. Martin will remain accredited during this time and student aid will not be affected.
