Tennessee Education Lottery Educator of the Week: Anita Kail

BELLS, Tenn. — “It’s a challenging job but a very fulfilling job,” said Anita Kail. She is an English as a second language teacher at Bells Elementary School and says her favorite part of being an educator is watching her students grow over the years.

“I get to know them say in kindergarten and I’m still maybe working with them in 3rd or 4th grade. So, being able to see their growth as they acquire English skills and grow academically and socially — it’s a beautiful thing.”

Kail has been teaching for over 25 years and has been an ESL teacher for 12. She admits the job comes with challenges. “Keeping a pace that the students need that’s necessary to grow with the growth that’s require these days.”

She says that being an educator brings joy to her life and that a good educator helps the students acquire the skill they need to be successful.

“I love it. I just love the students, it keeps me sharp. It keeps my mind going and thinking of ways that I can help them be the most that they can be.”

Kail will now be eligible for the state-wide Tennessee Education Lottery Educator of the month award. Starting in January to vote for her or any of the other nominees go to: seehowitaddsup.com
