Madison Co. deputy charged with DUI, suspended

JACKSON, Tenn. — A deputy with the Madison County Sheriff’s Office appeared Monday morning in Jackson City Court on a DUI charge.

Simon Arcuri is charged with driving under the influence, violation of implied consent law and open container.

According to an affidavit, an officer found Arcuri parked on Chester Street around 2 a.m. Sunday. Police said they found beer bottles in his vehicle and that Arcuri admitted he had been drinking.

Madison County Sheriff’s Office Public Information Officer Tom Mapes confirmed Arcuri is a patrol deputy with the department. Mapes said Arcuri currently is on administrative leave and suspended without pay.
