Experts discuss top financial goals for 2023

JACKSON, Tenn. — January is not only known for bringing in the new year, but it is also Financial Awareness Month.

With resolutions already being created and thought about, these experts conducted a survey on some of the top goals for 2023.

Among the list were “save more money,” “pay down debt,” and “spend less money.”

The survey also showed that younger generations like Gen Z and Millennials seem to be more optimistic about the future and think 2023 will be a better year for them financially.

“Having a financial plan in place is really a great way to give yourself this sense of control, even when the rest of the world feels like it’s out of control,” said Stacey Watson, Head of Life Events, Fidelity Investments. “And so we have a whole host of resources to help you navigate any life event.”

Watson shares the key to making any resolution stick is to make sure that you set a goal that’s clear, specific and realistic.
