Shelby County election commission seeks new administrator

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) – The Shelby County Election Commission says it is accepting applications for administrator.

The commission oversees elections in Shelby County, which includes Memphis.

The administrator oversees daily operations and 14 employees, reporting directly to the five part-time commissioners.

Commission chairman Robert Meyers says resumes will be reviewed by a hiring selection committee, which will then pass along candidates to the commission.

Richard Holden has served as administrator for six years. He will retire at the end of December.
