Pascagoula man arrested in armed home invasion after pursuit

PASCAGOULA, Miss. (AP) – Police say a 42-year-old Pascagoula man accused in an armed home invasion led police officers on a vehicle chase that ended shortly after an officer trying to stop him fired three rounds at the suspect’s vehicle.

Pascagoula Police Lt. Jim Roe tells The Sun Herald Brian McLeod was taken into custody Sunday on charges of felony fleeing, home invasion and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

Roe says police received a report of a man armed with a gun who had forced his way into a home.

When police got to the scene, Roe says McLeod drove off, leading police on a short high-speed chase before turning around and running in to a patrol car.

Online jail records do not list an attorney for him.
