Fatal Gibson Co. Fire Ruled Accidental
BRAZIL, Tenn. – A fire that killed an elderly Gibson County woman earlier this week has been ruled accidental. Gibson County Fire Chief Bryan Cathey told WBBJ 7 Eyewitness News the fired started in the kitchen. Family members of the victim, 80-year-old Elizabeth Jarnigin, said she may have left her stove on, then fell asleep. Firefighters believe the home had been burning for more than an hour before they got there at around 1:15 a.m., Wednesday.
