Man faces child abuse charge after 7-year-old tests positive for drugs

HENDERSON COUNTY, Tenn. — Deputies have arrested a man on a child abuse charge after a child living in his home tested positive for meth and other drugs, according to the sheriff’s office.

Billy Walker is facing a criminal attempt to commit aggravated child abuse charge after a 7-year-old living in his home tested positive for meth and opiates, according to a report from the Henderson County Sheriff’s Department.

The Department of Children’s Services responded in October to a report of drug use in the home, according to the sheriff’s department.

DCS later had the child removed from the home and returned to the custody of a family member.
