Goodwill prepares for post-Christmas rush

JACKSON, Tenn. — As families enjoy the holidays, some are getting ready to make end-of-years donation to lessen their tax burden.

Employees with Goodwill in north Jackson say they also are getting ready for the rush. Officials say the busiest donation period is after Christmas leading up to Dec. 31. Donations generate money for job training and placement of workers.

“Donations are something that we are striving for always,” store manager Melissa Williams said. “Donations are very necessary for our mission to keep the company running. With every donation, you can provide a job for someone.”

Goodwill officials say to bring your tax-deductible donations to the donations side of their building on Vann Drive.
