Henry Co. to open tornado shelters
HENRY COUNTY, Tenn. — The sheriff’s office will be opening tornado shelters across the county Wednesday in light of the possibility of severe weather.
The shelters will open at 8 a.m. and will remain open until storms move out of the area, which is forecast for some time after noon, according to a release from the Henry County Office of Emergency Management and Safety.
The shelter locations include:
Inman School, 400 Harrison St., Paris, TN 38242
Harrellson School, 143 Puyear County Club Road, Puryear, TN 38251
Lakewood School, 6745 HWY 79 North, Buchanan, TN 38222
Henry School, 937 Pioneer Road, Henry, TN 38231
School resource officers of the Henry County Sheriff’s Office will be manning the shelters, according to the release.
Citizens planning to use the shelters should bring a chair, water, snacks and a charged cell phone, the release states.
