Weather Update 10:30 PM Friday, Christmas Day
A DENSE FOG ADVISORY IS EFFECTIVE UNTIL 4 AM SATURDAY FOR ALL OF WEST TENNESSEE (except Lake County).
Tonight we will continue to see isolated rain activity around the area. Temperatures will actually climb as we go overnight tonight. Fog is already developing around the area and is likely to drop visibility down to less than 1/4 of a mile. A warm front to our south will begin to lift bringing warmer air into the region this will also bump out the fog. We are currently sitting in the mid 50s and temps will gradually warm into the 60s by morning.
Tomorrow, we have about a 40% chance for scattered rain to continue. The morning hours have a chance for a possible thunderstorm. We aren’t expecting severe weather at this point but strong winds are likely with a thunderstorm making its way through the area. By the afternoon, isolated activity will persist. Afternoon highs are expecting to reach into the 70s.
The scattered rain showers continue through Sunday. A cold front will begin pushing into the region by Sunday night and into Monday. This could give us the possibility for stronger thunderstorms Monday. Isolated severe thunderstorms are possible and we are still watching the exact timing of these storms. The general time frame is Monday morning into the afternoon.
Merry Christmas!
